Announced tournaments

A) 3rd – 9th November 2019: BRNO OPEN

  • open rating tournament with rating for ELO FIDE and DWZ
  • participation of players without age and performance limitations
  • Swiss system of 9 rounds
  • 2 x 1,5h + 30s / move, waiting time is 1 h in case of late arrival
  • financial prizes in CZK*: 8 000, 6 000, 4 000, 3 000, 2 000, 1 000, 500, 500, best woman 500, best senior over 60 years of age 500, best player up to 16 years of age 500, prizes for the best players with ELO FIDE 2000-2149, 1850-1999, 1700-1849, 1550-1699, 1400-1549, smaller than 1400 and for the best player without ELO FIDE – in each of these categories 500 (30 000 altogether, fusion of prizes is possible)
  • material prizes for other players, women, seniors over 60 years of age and youngsters up to 16 years of age
  • starting fee in EUR:

discounts on starting fee:

  • 25 % for FM, youth players up to 18 years of age, players over 65 years of age and women
  • fees for rating of the tournament results for ELO in the amount of 2,5 EUR per player charged according to the economic directive of the Chess Federation of the Czech Republic are not included in the starting fee and will be paid by participants during the registration. The organizer pays these fees for players with GM, IM, WGM and WIM titles
  • players registered after 21st October 2019 pay extra 8,5 EUR

B) 6th November 2019 open blitz tournament

  • participation of players without age and performance limitations
  • rating for blitz ELO FIDE
  • playing system according to the number of participants, 2 x 3 min. + 2s / move
  • financial and material prizes according to the number of participants *
  • starting fee 2 EUR
  • fees for rating of the tournament results for ELO in the amount of 0,5 EUR per player charged according to the economic directive of the Chess Federation of the Czech Republic are not included in the starting fee and will be paid by participants during the registration
  • applications for this tournament are not registered and it is possible to register for it only on the day of launching of the tournament

* Payment in EUR possible

Criteria used for ranking and prizes distribution (tournaments A and B)

1. number of points, 2. Buchholz Cut 1, 3. Buchholz, 4. Sonnenborg-Bergen, 5. the greater number of games played with black. Prizes in the tournament A are distributed according to Hort system among such number of players which corresponds to the number of advertised prizes; prizes in tournament B are not divided

  • price including breakfast 66,5 EUR/room and night, if only 1 person occupies the room, 54 EUR/room and night is charged

Possibility of spending free time

Starting fee and accommodation payments

will be collected during the registration in cash in EUR (at the amount given in these regulations), CZK (in the rate 24:1 compared to prices given in these regulations) or USD or by debit and credit cards: Eurocard/Master Card, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron, JCB or Diners Club.

  • Prize fund of the whole CZECH TOUR 2019 / 20 Series is 25 000 CZK (7 000, 5 000, 4 000, 3 000, 2 000, 1 000, 1 000, 1 000, 500, 500), prizes can be obtained in the form of bonus in the next year of series only, criteria used for ranking: the highest total of points gained in individual tournaments (7 best results from all tournaments for individuals played with rating min. 2 x 1,5h + 30s/move are counted), best place in one of included tournaments, lot
  • Discount on starting fee and accommodation price - 5% discount in 2nd start in the tournament held within the frame of this year CZECH TOUR Series, or 10% in 3rd start, 15% in 4th start etc. (only starts from all tournaments for individuals played with rating min. 2 x 1,5h + 30s/move except for Sunny Beach Open are counted)

All foreign players must have an assigned FIDE identification number (abbreviation FIDE ID or FID) at the time of the submission of the application form. If they do not have it, they have to apply their national chess federation for it.
